Travel Demand Forecast Model Applications


  • MUNI 3rd St Light Rail / New Central Subway, San Francisco, California: provided travel demand model forecasting services to support FTA’s User Benefit analysis and preliminary engineering of MUNI’s New Central Subway light rail project. Modeled project alternatives in the regional MTC and local San Francisco travel models, developed special events model, and performed a detailed analysis of station level results.
  • MUNI Van Ness BRT, San Francisco, California: provided travel demand model forecasting services to support FTA’s User Benefit analysis for the Van Ness BRT Small Starts project. Modeled project alternatives in the regional MTC and local San Francisco travel models and prepared all forecasting documents and maps.
  • San Francisco Countywide Transportation Plan/Expenditure Plan Model Application & Equity Analysis, San Francisco, California: provided travel demand model forecasting services to support the development of San Francisco’s first countywide transportation plan. Modeled project alternatives, identified and prepared model-based performance measures, including a detailed equity analysis, and developed quantitative, textual and graphical analyses of model results.
  • HOT Lane Network Feasibility Study, Oakland, CA: for the Bay Area Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), refreshed and recalibrated the regional HOT lane model, an enhanced version of MTC’s Baycast model. Also providing forecasting application support.
  • Doyle Drive Model Application, San Francisco, California: provided travel demand model forecasting services to support the development of the Doyle Drive Environmental & Design Study. Validated the model in the project subarea, and performed extensive model runs to support alternatives analyses and the Doyle Drive microsimulation model.
